They’re responsive and always deliver. We can’t recommend them highly enough. Head to HMD g.co.uk To find out more. Hello, my lovely listeners. Thank you for tuning in to this week’s episode of the treat your business podcast. I welcome to any new followers that are tuning in for the first time. My name is Katie Bell. For most of you you already know I’m a physio and pilates instructor by trade I run my own physio clinic in the mighty Sheffield’s, but I spend most of my time now, coaching mentor and guiding system business owners who I know listen to this podcast in the health and wellness industry. And today’s episode is all about investing in your business. And actually, when you’re afraid of investing in your business, what you can track to shift your energy. So when I talk about investment, it could be investment in terms of your time in terms of your money, in terms of bringing new staff members into your business, it could be taking additional clinic space, it could be buying new equipment, it could be taking new software on to streamline your systems and your processes. It could be an investment in a mentor or a coach. It could be investing in courses or CPD. So when I use the word investment or growth, I want you to know that that can mean different things to different people. So it doesn’t always mean taking your business to the next huge six figure level or seven figure level, it’s whatever is relevant to you right now. And growth can mean in terms of money, it can mean in terms of time back, it can mean freedom, it can mean flexibility. Okay, so the words, I’m using growth and investment, I just wanted to put some context behind that. Now, when we talk about investing in your business, what common fears come up for you. So if I said to you, right, we’re going to take your business from five members of staff to 10, or we’re going to take your pricing up from 100pound an hour to 200 pound an hour, instantly things are going to come up for you that might be and I’m just going to read some common things that we hear fear of failure, it could be the fear of the financial loss. It could be uncertainty, it could be the unknown, the ego, the thing that likes to keep us safe likes to know the how. So when we don’t know the how we often retreat back into that comfort zone. Common fears are all about taking risks. It could be that you don’t feel good enough that you don’t know enough. It could be things that come up around, oh, but what if is really hard work to get from X amount of team to 10, five to 10 or double it or whatever it is take on that new member of staff because what you know at this point is is this hard to get to where I am now. And you’re asking me to double it to get to the next level? What if I make too much money? What if people then start to think that I’m only in it for the money and I shouldn’t be in it because of the love of the job. I love helping people. So all of these are really common things that come up when we are having to make a decision about investing in ourselves in our in our business. And it’s really normal. And the fears that come up can be fears of failure and fears of success. They don’t always have to be what we would say negative or positive they can be both and we can be held back by both. Sometimes people are more afraid of success than they are a failure because failure is seen As something bad and Albert Einstein, I love his quote, he says anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. So when you are in a position where you’re sat in your comfort zone, you feel a bit stuck in your businesses not really moving forwards, it’s often because the ego is winning the the monkey on the shoulder, the thing in your brain that likes to keep you in your comfort zone. And remember, our comfort zone is a place of survival, but it’s not a place to thrive, excuse the pun that it is there purely for survival. Which is why most people and there is no judgement when I say this, but when most people live an average life when only naught point, whatever it is, 1% of people make six figures or more in their life. What even less naught point naught 1% of people make seven figures or not. And it’s mainly because most people left to their own device in their own head, won’t combat the ego, the thing that is there to keep you safe, not thrive, not do amazing things not impact the world, not solve patients back problems and and change the health and wellness of your community just survive, just literally get from A to B day to day. And when we talk about failures, and we are afraid of failing because we’re afraid of people thinking that we’re not good enough or that we don’t know enough or we can’t possibly be a business owner because we don’t know what we’re doing. I wanted to just bring in some examples of people that you know, in this world who have massively failed. First one, I’ve chosen a cleaning one because I’m obsessed with cleaner James Dyson, who makes Dyson Hoover’s as you as you now know, he had 5126 failed prototypes. Number 5127 then went on to make him 4.5 billion net worth 4.5 billion. So if James Dyson had just given up every time he failed 5000 times, he would never have made it Steven Spielberg. He was rejected twice by the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. And we know what he went on to create Walt Disney chuffing Walt Disney, also a massive Disney fan. The editor told waltz of a huge newspaper, told not he told what he lacked imagination and have no good ideas. Albert Einstein didn’t read till he was seven, JK Rowling, her first publication of Harry Potter was, was rejected by the publishers. Oprah loved Oprah, until she did the Harry and Megan interview. Just gonna not digress into that, because they could get on a soapbox or won’t love Oprah. She was fired from her first job in TV. And Michael Jordan, he had this quote, and I got it here on my screen to read to you, Michael Jordan said, I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career, I have lost almost300 games, on 26 occasions, I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I have missed, I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. So when we are looking at investing in ourselves, and in our business, we cannot be afraid to fail. We’ve got to fail fast, and move forwards. And when we are getting closer and closer and closer to the decision, or to the thing that we’ve got to overcome, we’ve got to step over that barrier. As we’re getting closer and closer and closer, it gets harder and harder and harder. And all this excuse my French other shit is gonna come in your way to try and keep you back in that comfort zone. That is just your ego and it shouts really loudly the closer you get to making that big decision or taking that leap of faith, you got to take the leap and know that the net will appear. So what we focus on expands if we are focused on failure if we’re focused on lack if we’re focused on money troubles if we’re focused on recruitment struggles, if we’re focused on fact that the world’s going to shift and everybody seems to be completely negative and in a weird mood that everybody keeps telling me about if we focus on all the stuff we hear in the media which is 100,000,000% of the time negative that’s what we’re going to see more of that’s what it’s what expands what we focus on, grows bigger, whether it is good or whether it is bad. What your your thoughts become your words. So what we think King, we then talk about your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your character, your character determines your destiny. So when we are in this place where I’m just gonna give you a really obvious example, I hear it all the time on our coaching calls, I’m just really busy and I have no time that focus literally expands. So what then happens is you have even less time you feel even busier and more overwhelmed because we are focused on the lack, like attracts like. So we have to really tune into how we are thinking and feeling. When we are approaching a time of investment in our business or a time of growth in our business or decisions. I want you to take a moment as you’re listening to this podcast, wherever you are in your car, in your in your car, do it safely, please, in your house, walk in the dark, wherever you are. Just take a moment to take in your environment that you are in right now. So if you’re in your car, what car are you driving? Is it a shithole? Because the kids had left all the stuff in the back? Is it pristine? Is what you’re wearing? What phone are you using? What radio station would be tuning into what clothes have you got on what shoes if he got up? Where are you going? What handbag are you carrying? What’s your house, like? Just look around you and take it in for a moment. Because your environment is a direct result of what you have been thinking and feeling. So if you do not like your environment, guess what? You manifested it, you manifest it through how you were thinking and feeling because feelings create things. We can’t just have a thought you know, when people say when people say you got to do affirmations, okay, um, I get affirmations I am uh, I like them, I understand them. I know when they’re useful. But if you stand in front of a mirror, when somebody tells me to do this or that you want to smack him in the face. So in front the mirror and say I am bold, I am confident I am good enough. I can I can make as much money as I want to make I know everything I whatever, all those affirmations. Okay, if you are literally just saying the words, nothing will change, because we have to have a feeling behind it. And I’m going to explain what I mean by this. And just go with me for a second. If this is a bit weird for you. I’m not a very weird person. So I’m hoping this is going to come across in the right way. What you think you create what you feel you attract what you imagine you become. This is the law of attraction, like attracts like, is nothing to do with personalities, and no one can live beyond this law. It is a universal law, whether you like it, whether you believe it or not. And it’s the law behind success or failure. Now, I want you to imagine a funnel and the the it’s big at the top and it narrows down at the bottom, okay? And at the top is like ultimate consciousness you are in flow, you feel great. Life is good. Things are happy. You’re you’re you’re feel peaceful, you feel joy, you’ve got loving your life, you’re, you’re grateful for things. And then right at the bottom of the funnel, I want you to imagine that’s like suffering. And just above that sight, just getting by. Now, what do you just imagine? No, don’t imagine, think where where you are in your life right now? Would you say that you’re in suffering, like and there’s no judgement here. Everybody goes through these phases, we all go through all these levels of consciousness. Are you in suffering? Just think Do you feel guilty? Are you? Are you in a state of fear? A lot of the time? Do you feel shame around anything? Are you angry? Do you feel quite neutral? I want you to think are you in that ultimate joy level of like things could not be better? You’re feeling great. Are you just getting by? Or are you in suffering? Now, I want you to know, you will know this. You will. Scientific people because we’re in the health industry. But everything is energy. Everything is is matter. So it all vibrates at a certain level of Hertz. Okay, that’s as deep as I’m gonna get with it. So everything is vibrating at a certain level. And if you take a tuning fork, and you I don’t think the word is calibrate, but you get what I mean, if you tune the other fork into the same calibration as that tuning fork, if you didn’t, this one in a room, the other one across the room will dig as well. Okay, because they are both the same, they resonate at the same level. So this is what happens with our energy right when we are resonating at a level of fear. We are literally attracting that same thing out in the universe and the environment around us. So when people go oh, God, it never rains it pours. Yeah, no shit show up. Because your level of energy that you’re resonating at is attracting more of that back. There is no such thing as bad luck. There is no such thing as coincidences, there’s no such thing as fate. Okay, it is the law of attraction working. So when we want to shift and change our environment, when we want to create more, invest in our business, go to the next level, create more time when he freedom, flexibility, we have to change the level that we’re vibrating at. Because if you try and do that from a level of guilt, shame, apathy, grief, fear, anger, some, you’re just gonna get more of that back that is a contracted state. If you resonate from an expanded state of willingness, acceptance, reason, love, joy, peace, gratitude, enlightenment, you are going to attract more of that back towards you. Think about a basic tuning fork like attracts like good or bad. So when we are saying, when we are thinking things and speaking things, we have to be careful what we speak, we have to be careful what we’re putting out there. Because remember that thoughts that work those words, those feelings are then going to be found by similar vibrating levels and coming back to us. I’m going to read you a little page from a book and this book is mega, okay, I’ll make sure it’s in the show notes. It’s it’s, it’s from Lin grab horn and it’s excuse me, your life is waiting is bright, a bright yellow cover and I I was preparing for this podcast and that I was away last week and I was thinking what? How can I get across to you the importance of when we are taking that next step in our business, the importance of how we think and how we feel before we just push, push, push power, power, power, focus, focus, focus, and just think we need to do more to achieve more. And here it says we were taught backwards. Most of us haven’t a clue how we get what we get in life. First, there’s a long list of things we want and never get nor ever hope to get. Then there’s that even wonder list of all the things we don’t want yet seem to get more off with disheartening regularity. No one’s to blame for this ceaseless dream busting. We were just taught backwards. Probably the most destructive thing we’ve been taught is that life is born of a series of circumstances served up to us on a gigantic platter called potluck or fate. Starting always with the parents we were born to, and the environment in which we grew up. If we were born rich, we got a lucky draw. If we were born poor struggle would be more common destiny. If we found happiness, it was by the Charice touch of a lady look. If some drunken idiot crashed into us on the highway, it was rotten fate. We’ve been taught that we gain only as we labour. That action is my is the magic word. Do do do work, work, work, strive, sweat, toil, and then if you look holds out we just might come out ahead. We’ve been taught by loving misguided elders to be cautious and guarded. Don’t climb the tree honey, or you’ll fall. Don’t wear that silly thing or people will laugh. Don’t forget to lock your doors or you’ll be robbed. We’ve become such a defensive species. Our entire life revolves around fearful credos, and be careful, be cautious, be safe and secure. Heaven forbid we should ever let that guard down. But the greatest obstacle to living our potential comes from toddler days when we were trained to look for what’s wrong with everything. With our jobs, our cars are relationships, our clothes are shapes, our health, our freeways, our planet, our faith, our entertainment, our children, our government, even our friends. Yet most of the world can’t even agree about what right or wrong is. So we want and strike and demonstrate and make laws and go to psychiatrists. That’s life. You say? We have to take the good with the bad the ops with the downs, we have to be on guard work hard, do the things right. Be watchful and hope for a break? Yes, that’s the way life is. No, no, no. That is simply not the way real life is. And it’s timely faced up to how we actually do create what we have in our world. Our empty awful bank accounts, our grand or boring jobs, our good fortune or bad fortune, and everything else in this arena. We so nonchalantly call reality. How do we do it? Don’t laugh. It all comes from how we’re vibrating. So this explains what I just hopefully touched upon that. Nothing is down to fake nothing is down to coincidence nothing is down to luck. It is all about the level that we are vibrating at. So we have to shift our focus when we are looking at investing in our business, rather than thinking about whack, let’s think about the growth potential, let’s think about the improved market position we might have, let’s think about the increased profitability, which would then allow for increased control and independence, personal and professional development. More opportunities for more people to have jobs to impact the community on a bigger level, for you to have more freedom to get more time back, to have more flexibility in your life to spend more time with your children. To do the things that you really love to do, we have to shift the focus, we can be so affected by what’s going on around us all the negative things, that that just becomes our hard wired frequency. And we I’m just gonna share with you something that we are literally doing in the clinic like today,I’ve just had a message with my business manager and we, we have decided we are going to have a positive pants wall in the clinic for a month for 30 days. And it starts on Monday. And we are my job is to tell the team because I’m a galvanises. So I will get the team on boarded this, and it’s Katie’s job to make it happen. So Katie’s by business manager, so what’s going to happen is we’re going to have a big wall in the kitchen, that’s going to have positive pants in big capital letters and funky, funky colours. And we’re going to have like, literally pictures of plants, and where you could write in them of all in cool colours. And we’re going to have loads of blue tack, okay, the devils in the detail, and we’re gonna have a pet, and every person that is in clinic for every day for 30 days is going to have to write something good that’s happened in their day and stick it on the positive pants wall. So we’ve worked out by the time we’ve got 30 days, and on average, the number of staff we have in the clinic on each day,we should have to over 250positive path statements.Because if we want to shift this energy, if we want to take our business to the next level, this year, if we want to grow, I have to shift and uplevel that vibration in my team. Can you imagine walking into the kitchen to make yourself a brewery every day, and there’s 250 positive statements on the wall like that shit, it’s going to filter into your brain, you aren’t going to if you don’t feel better, you cannot be on my team. If you’re gonna be that negative person,no, we’ve not got time for it.Because we have to, it’s so easy for us to focus on the things that we’re not doing, that we’re not succeeding and that we’re not doing well in. But there is a lot of good stuff that is happening. And we have to shift the focus. Now I want to just say one boring, sensible thing, because I’m a grounded person. And it’s important that I do this, when we are investing in our business. When we are grown to that next level, I always like to say you manage the risks that you need to manage, okay,we can’t manage everything, we can’t micromanage and control everything. But here’s the thing. If you’re growing more staff members, taking your business to the next level, getting some more clinic space, training, some new software on whatever, whatever, whatever you need to think, first of all about, do market research, do your analysis, do the numbers,do the numbers stack up, get expert advice and mentorship. Do not try and grow and invest and take that next step in your business by yourself in your diet in your own head in your own brain. Because most of the time, the ego will whip and keep you in your comfort zone. The people that you see doing well. It’s not that they know loads more than you it’s not that they have a totally different personality to you. Or like they are they are wired for success. They’ve just got this law of attraction shit worked out. So you’ve got to be surrounding yourself with people that support your feelings of where you want to be. Sometimes a really good tip. You know, when you’re taking that next step in your business, you’ve got something to deal with.

Unknown:

Let’s take somebody like

Katie Bell:

Oprah Winfrey, because she’s on my mind. Okay. And I do like Oprah. If we were in a position, or James Dyson,or Michael Jordan or whatever, whoever somebody that you deem to be successful in whatever thing that you see successes, as I often think, Okay, I’ve got this stuff problem, or I’ve got this investment problem. I’ve got to take this next step. What would Oprah do about that right now? Yeah, she would not listen to your own bullshit, Katie about the lack and this is not going to work. Oprah would just go for it. So sometimes you have to step into who you want to be.In fact, all the time you have to step into where you want to be and who you want to be. So we have to set the goal and the vision with clarity. We’ve got to put it out there clearly to the universe. This is what I are going for when we bought this house that we are in now, I had one viewing I came home, I said to my husband, this is the house we’re gonna have. He said, Well, you know, there’s a lot of other people that are going to bed and a lot of the people that will want it. Bla bla bla bla bla Boring, boring, boring. And I wrote all new haircuts. And I sent text messages out to my friends who think I’m I’ve lost it anyway. But it’s fine. And I just said, just let you know, this would be my new address. And they’ll reply back saying,Oh, my God, have you got the house, I was like, No, but I’m going to I didn’t even put a bid in at that point. I clearly made the intention. That is the house and we are in that house. Now. I then went on to draw diagrams of each and every room of how I wanted it to look even plants included for when we did our refurb. And I was cleaning out my office drawers months ago.And my little glitter book of design is there. And every room is exactly as I drew out today,I may well have that book for however many years, five years ago that I drew it. So you have to set your intention. You have to do your finance, you have to do your numbers. Okay, we have to go and run the numbers on the house. Because I am all about taking risks, but I’m all about not killing yourself to do it and not mean that you can’t eat and surround yourself with the people that are going to be on your waggon pushing you forward Driving driving you up that hill with you go yes, you can do this, not the negative numbers that are gonna hold you back, pull you back tell you everything that’s gonna go wrong. So just check in with what you’re listening to who you are surrounding yourself with what you’re tuning into. I have not watched the news for 12years, 13 years, I’ve got literally no clue what’s going on. I didn’t know what was going on in COVID because all my clients will probably tell me.So you’ve got to be so diligent of what you absorb to manage that level of frequency, that level of vibration so that you attract what you want back to you. I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s episode. I have personally loved it go and read or get it on audio or read the book excuse me, your life is waiting, the astonishing power of positive feelings by Lin grab horn. It has been a delight everybody have a fabulous rest of your day, whatever you’re doing, and go and just tune in to your vibrational level.
